EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Post-Effective Amendment No. 1 (this “Amendment”) to the Registration Statement on Form S-1 of Joby Aviation, Inc. (File No. 333-258868), initially filed on August 17, 2021 and declared effective by the Commission on September 2, 2021 (the “Registration Statement”), is being filed as an exhibit-only filing solely to file a consent of Deloitte & Touche LLP, filed herewith as Exhibit 23.1 (the “Consent”), with respect to its report dated March 25, 2022 relating to the financial statements of Joby Aviation, Inc. contained in the Annual Report on Form 10-K of Joby Aviation, Inc. for the year ended December 31, 2021 and included in the Prospectus Supplement dated March 25, 2022 filed pursuant to Rule 424(b)(3).
