Founder and Chief Executive Officer

JoeBen is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Joby Aviation and has led the team since its inception, more than a decade ago. He has dedicated his life to driving radical innovation in electric propulsion and robotics. In 1999, JoeBen co-founded Velocity11 to develop high-performance robotic laboratory systems, which was acquired by Agilent Technologies. In 2005, he founded Joby Inc., a company that develops useful and delightful consumer products including the popular Gorillapod flexible camera tripod.

Chief Financial Officer

Matt Field is Joby Aviation’s Chief Financial Officer. Before joining Joby, he served as the Chief Financial Officer, North America, at Ford Motor Company where he was responsible for the financial operations of a $100 billion revenue operation. In that role, Matt oversaw the finances of Ford’s largest automotive division, which employs more than 100,000 employees and produces more than 2.5 million units a year. Prior to joining Ford, he worked at Goldman Sachs and the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System.

Greg Bowles

Greg Bowles

Head of Government Policy

Greg brings nearly two decades of aviation regulation and policy experience to Joby Aviation as Head of Government Policy. He came to Joby from the General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) where he championed modern regulatory reforms, paving the way for a new form of daily air mobility. Greg held several leadership roles at GAMA including VP of Global Innovation and Policy and Director of European Affairs and Engineering. He is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society and an accomplished commercial airplane and helicopter pilot.

Bonny Simi

Bonny Simi

President of Operations

Bonny Simi is Joby Aviation’s President of Operations. Prior to joining the team at Joby, Bonny held several operational and strategic roles at JetBlue within Flight Operations, System Operations, People, Airports, and Customer Support. Most notably, she founded and led JetBlue Technology Ventures. As a pilot, Bonny has commanded Boeing, Airbus and Embraer aircraft at both United Airlines and JetBlue Airways. She is an Emmy-nominated sports reporter and a 3-time Olympian in the sport of Luge.

Eric Allison

Chief Product Officer

Eric serves as Joby Aviation’s Chief Product Officer. He most recently led the Elevate team at Uber, developing software tools that built on more than a decade of experience enabling on-demand mobility. His experience in aerospace research, electric propulsion, energy storage, vehicle autonomy, and composite structures led him to the CEO position at Zee Aero, where he spearheaded the development of Cora, an autonomous air taxi vehicle. Eric holds a PhD in Aeronautics and Astronautics from Stanford, an MS in Aeronautics and Astronautics from Stanford, and a BS from the Milwaukee School of Engineering.

General Counsel and Corporate Secretary

Kate is Joby Aviation’s General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, responsible for the company’s legal, ethics, and compliance functions. She joined Joby in 2021 from Uber Elevate, where she served as Director of Legal. Kate gained experience in the aerospace industry as the General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for ICON Aircraft, responsible for compliance, risk management, investor relations, and legal affairs. She was also the Vice President for Legal Affairs at CoorsTek and was an associate at Simpson, Thacher and Bartlett.

Didier Papadopoulos

President of Aircraft OEM

Didier joined Joby in 2021 from Garmin International where he served as the VP of Aviation Systems, Programs and Business Development. He first began his aviation career at CAE developing flight simulators for commercial and business aviation. Didier brings over two decades of aviation experience leading varied functions including Business Development, Program Management, Systems Engineering, Mobile Applications and Services. Didier holds a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering – Robotics, from McGill University.
